Recently appointed as Associate Conductor at Teatro Goldoni Livorno , Eric Lederhandler is now developping his musical activities in Italy (Orchestra di San Remo , Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana , Orchestra Metropolitana di Bari , .....)  


Eric Lederhandler  made his debut with Orchestre Philarmonique Royal de Liège in  January  2020.


First foreign conductor to be appointed as Music Director with a symphonic orchestra in China, Eric Lederhandler was recently appointed to this function at the Jiangsu Symphony Orchestra (Nanking). He is nominated until March 2014. Eric Lederhandler was born in 1965 in Uccle, Belgium. After studying the piano at music school, he entered the Conservatoire of Brussels where he studied the harpsichord, chamber music and the complete study of composing and writing music. He also completed his choir conducting diploma. Eric Lederhandler attained the top level of the “Wiener Meisterkurse für Dirigenten”  under the direction of Salvador Mas Conde. This allowed him to conduct at the « Grosser Sendesaal » of the “ORF Funkhaus” (Austrian National Broadcasting Corporation) in Vienna.


In 1992, he founded the chamber orchestra “Nuove Musiche”, where he is the conductor in Belgium and overseas.


He received valuable instruction from Frank Shipway and from Yuri Simonov and regularly collaborates with the opera house “la Monnaie”, the “Opéra Royal de Wallonie”, “The Flemish Opera”, the Russian Opera House of Kazan and the Chinese Opera House in Shanghai. He was the conductor of the “Opera Mobile” and is currently the conductor in the opera production house “Idée Fixe”.


Eric Lederhandler was nominated the first chosen guest conductor at the Vidin State Philharmonic Orchestra in Bulgaria and he still collaborates with many orchestras:  the Turkish Symphonic Orchestra from Adana, the Noord Nederlands Orchestra and the Limburg Symphonic Orchestra in Holland, the Sewanee Orchestra in the USA, the “Deutsche Kammerorchester” in Germany, the Liepaja Symphonic Orchestra in Lithuania, the “Czech Virtuosi” in the Czech Republic, the “Orchestre Régional de l’Ile de France”, the “Bell’Arte” Orchestra , the Philharmonic Orchestra in Monte-Carlo , the Orchestre National de Lorraine in Metz , the Oltenia Filarmonica in Craiova (Roumenia) ,  the Cairo Symphony Orchestra (Egypt) , the Central Philharmonic Orchestra, Beijing, the Beijing Symphonic Orchestra, the Shanghai Symphonic Orchestra, the Xiamen Philharmonic Orchestra and the Chinese National Symphony Orchestra. He is regularly invited as a guest at the Conservatoire in Sichuan, China, where he conducts the orchestra and where he gives master classes in conducting. These projects are supported by the Belgian French-Speaking Community.


In Belgium, he has conducted the “Ensemble Vocal” of the RTBF and the choirs of the Royal Conservatoire of Brussels. He has collaborated as guest director with the Royal Chamber Orchestra of Wallonie, the Symphonic Orchestra of the Royal Conservatoire and the Belgian National Orchestra.


Récemment nommé Chef Associé au Teatro Goldoni Livorno , Eric Lederhandler développe actuellement son activité musicale en Italie (Orchestra di San Remo , Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana , Orchestra Metropolitana di Bari , ......).


Eric Lederhandler a fait ses débuts avec l'Orchestre Philarmonique Royal de Liège en Janvier 2020 .


Premier chef d'orchestre étranger à occuper une telle fonction en Chine , Eric Lederhandler est le nouveau Directeur Musical du Jiangsu Symphony Orchestra (Nankin) jusqu'en mars 2014. Eric Lederhandler est né à Uccle en 1965. Après avoir étudié le piano en Académie, il entre au Conservatoire de Bruxelles où il étudie le clavecin, la musique de chambre et effectue le cursus complet des cours d’écriture; il est titulaire du diplôme de direction chorale. Eric Lederhandler a été lauréat des ‘Wiener Meisterkurse für Dirigenten’ sous la direction de Salvador Mas Conde, ce qui lui a permis de diriger au ‘Grosser Sendesaal’ de l’ORF Funkhaus à Vienne.


En 1992, il fonde l’orchestre de chambre Nuove Musiche dont il assume la direction musicale tant en Belgique qu’à l’étranger.


Il a bénéficié des conseils de Frank Shipway et de Yuri Simonov et est régulièrement amené à collaborer dans le domaine lyrique à La Monnaie, à l’Opéra Royal de Wallonie et au Vlaamse Opera, ainsi qu’à l’Opéra de Kazan (Russie) et l’Opéra de Shanghai (Chine). Il a été engagé par Opera Mobile et il est actuellement chef d’orchestre dans la maison de production d’opéra Idée Fixe.


Eric Lederhandler a été nommé premier chef-invité auprès du Vidin State Philharmonic Orchestra (Bulgarie) et il a à son actif différentes collaborations à l’étranger avec L’Orchestre Symphonique d’Adana (Turquie), le Noord Nederlands Orkest et le Limburgs Symphonie Orkest (Pays-Bas), le Sewanee Symphony (Etats-Unis), le Deutsches Kammerorchester (Allemagne), le Liepaja Symphony Orchestra (Lithuanie), les Czech Virtuosi (Tchèquie) et l’Orchestre Régional de l’Ile de France, l’Orchestre Bell’Arte et l’Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo (France), l'Orchestre National de Lorraine , la Oltenia Filarmonica (Roumanie) ,   le Central Philharmonic Beijing, le Beijing Symphony Orchestra, le Shanghai Symphony Orchestra,  le Xiamen Philharmonic Orchestra et le China National Symphony Orchestra (Chine). Il est l’hôte régulier du Conservatoire de Sichuan (Chine) dont il dirige l’orchestre et où il dispense des masterclasses de direction avec le soutien de la Communauté Française .


En Belgique, il a dirigé l’Ensemble Vocal de la RTBF, les Chœurs du Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles. Il collabore en tant que chef-invité avec l’Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie, l’Orchestre Symphonique du Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles et l’Orchestre National de Belgique.

Hij werd onlangs aangesteld als nieuwe Muziekdirecteur van het Jiangsu Symphony Orchestra (Nanking). Hij is de eerste buitenlandse dirigent die een gelijkaardige functie zal bekleden bij een symfonisch orkest in China. Deze benoeming loopt tot maart 2014. Eric Lederhandler werd in 1965 te Ukkel geboren. Hij studeerde piano aan de academie vooraleer naar het Conservatorium van Brussel te gaan waar hij diploma’s behaalde van klavecimbel, kamermuziek, contrapunt en fuga; tevens werd hij laureaat in de cursus koordirectie. Eric Lederhandler was laureaat van de ‘Wiener Meisterkurse für Dirigenten’ onder leiding van Salvador Mas Conde, waarbij hij het slotconcert in de ‘Grosser Sendesaal’ van het ORF Funkhaus te Wenen dirigeerde.


In 1992 richtte Eric Lederhandler het kamerorkest Nuove Musiche op waarvan hij sindsdien de muzikale leiding heeft en waarmee hij jaarlijks een 40-tal concerten verzorgt in binnen- en buitenland.


Hij genoot de artistieke steun van Frank Shipway en van Yuri Simonov en begeeft zich regelmatig op het domein van de opera als assistent-dirigent in de Munt, de Opéra Royal de Wallonie en de Vlaamse Opera, als gastdirigent bij Opera Mobile en als dirigent van het Brussels Operaproductiehuis Idée Fixe. Hij dirigeert eveneens de Kazan Opera (Rusland) en de Shanghai Opera (China).


Hij was eerste gastdirigent van het Vidin State Philharmonic Orchestra (Bulgarije). Hij dirigeerde het Symfonisch Orkest van Adana (Turkije), het Noord Nederlands Orkest en het Limburgs Symphonie Orkest (Nederland), het Sewanee Festival Orchestra en de Sewanee Symphony (U.S.A.), het Liepaja Symphony Orchestra (Letland), het Deutsches Kammerorchester (Duitsland), en het Orchestre Régional de L’Ile de France, het Orchestre Bell’Arte en het Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo (Frankrijk), alsook de Czech Virtuosi. Hij is regelmatig te gast in China waar hij aan het hoofd staat van de belangrijkste orkesten in Peking, Shanghai, Xiamen en Sichuan.


In België dirigeerde hij het Ensemble Vocal de la RTBF en is hij te gast bij het Orkest en de Koren het Conservatorium van Brussel, bij het Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie en het Nationaal Orkest van België.
